A little teaser from a current project featuring the amazing Brit Kagan and Blackmilk Clothing. Enjoy!

A couple of months ago I discovered BlackMilk Clothing of on all places, Instagram.  The images were cool and the clothing was fresh, new, hot and exciting and I had to find out more about who theses folks were.   So being who I am, I researched them on the web, found their website, cruised the galleries of the different works of art and that’s exactly what they are, “Art”.  I also read the story of how they came to be… Awesome.  I immediately told my girlfriend about my new discovery and that she had to witness this for herself right away.  Well it took us a bit to get our hands on the leggings she wanted and that we both wanted to do a shoot with and after a few emails back and forth with BMC and us waiting for them to make more… they finally arrived!

NOW, before you go getting all huffy and puffy about symbolism and what it may or may not mean, I’ve included a link to educate you on the St. Peter’s Cross … http://www.seiyaku.com/customs/crosses/peter.html.  Also here is the link to BMC http://www.blackmilkclothing.com/.

And here is Brit…

The Music Project, featuring Dan Raza

This particular image is part of a new project that I’m working on with musical artists. I am asking them to give me the lyrics to a song of theirs that describes them most as an artist and working those lyrics into an image. If you are musical creative and are interested, hit me up for more details.

Dan Raza, ‘Drifting’ in the ’04

Brit: “When Dan visits, he walks around Austin with his guitar and just plays.”

Me: “Wait, he doesn’t even get a cab?”

Brit: “No. He just walks. It’s his thing.”

From the moment Brit and I had this conversation, I knew I had to capture this with my camera.

Dan Raza is a singer/songwriter from the UK. He is quiet and modest, with honest eyes and a voice that can make any music lover stop and listen. I was introduced to him last year by my girlfriend and her family. A longtime Texas music fan, Raza has made arrangements to come across the pond to visit several times in the past year.

After shooting a live gig at a local Austin coffee shop, we made plans to bring this idea to fruition. We took a walk down South Congress one evening, and this is what came of it.

Be sure to check out his music in the links below, you won’t be disappointed.

Cheers.
